Now is the time!

Say HI! I know you want to!

New to photographing people. Trying to learn more about working with people so any and all advice is welcome.

I'll start off by saying right now the only SLR's I own are 35mm.

My main source of Digital Photography comes from my little Canon PowerShot S3 IS.

I've shot nature/sunrise/landscape/sky for about 2 years while learning about lighting and other things. So working with models is still a new concept to me.

I'm looking into several entry level DSLR's but the money is not there right now so it'll have to wait.

Hello.

Note:
An used reflex entry-level with a 50 mm (especially in USA) is a cheap investment.
However, safe special needs, isn't the camera that make the photograph, so shoot with your compact camera without problems and when it's possible you could go on a reflex. wink

I currently have a Pentax Program Plus w/ a Pentax 50mm f/1.7 as well as a Minolta X-370 w/ a Minolta 50mm f/1.7 and a Kiron 80-200mm f/4.5 MACRO

The 50mm lense on the Minolta is too soft but I use the Pentax and the Minolta with the 80-200mm quite often when I go for walks.

There's a shot in my Portfolio that was shot on the Pentax using an old Sunpak Auto 266D and a home made flash diffuser. I'll be using it more as it's one of the cameras I always have with me and I generally like it's results.

Thanks for the welcome everyone, I hope to get a great deal of wisdom and experience from you all. There seems to be a great community here.
